One of my favorite picture books is “Ms. Rumphius” by Barbara Cooney. It is the story of an old lady who sowed rumphius seeds to make the world more peaceful. She finally filled the town with beautiful flowers and more smiles of the residents. There was another "Ms. Rumphius" in Okinawa. That is Yohena Uto-san. Uto-san covered the hill of Izumi, Motobu, with hydrangeas. The best time to see hydrangeas is at the beginning of June.
